Since Florida law requires any house built after 1991 to have a working rain sensor installed on the irrigation system, we highly encourage them. A rain sensor serves several purposes, but they will always pay themselves off. They do this by shutting your sprinkler system off if a good enough rain has come through. This not only reduces your water bill, but can prevent from over watering and fungus, which can cost you in the long run. Smart watering!
